What size are the cake balls?
Our cake balls are about 1.25-inches round, a little smaller than the size of a golf ball. We have found this to be the perfect size to balance the ratio of cake to icing to chocolate coating. When serving at a party, we say that about 2 per person are sufficient.
Are cake balls fully cooked?
Yes. The cake in our cake balls is fully baked. The cake is then blended with icing, which creates a doughy consistency. This is what makes the cake balls super moist and delicious!
How do I store cake balls?
When your cake balls arrive, store them in the refrigerator. It's important to refrigerate them upon arrival so they stay fresh. Cake balls are best served slightly chilled. If they arrive to you at room temperature, it's okay. Just pop them in the fridge upon arrival.
How long can I store cake balls?
Cake balls can be stored for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator. If you have that much will power. They can also be frozen in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 6 months.
What are your hours of operation?
Our customer service hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 10 to 3. Sometimes we are away from the computer or phone busy making our delicious handmade cake balls. Please shoot us an email or leave us a message (214-559-5788), and we'll get back to you ASAP. We check email and voicemail often. Pick up hours at Times Ten Cellars are Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 7. Pick up hours at T-Hee are Monday through Friday from 10 to 6.
What happened to your retail location?
We closed our retail store on Northwest Highway in Dallas in April 2014. We now operate out of a production facility where we can focus on making and shipping our cake balls. You can no longer pickup directly from us, but you can at a few Dallas area retail partners. If you'd like to place an order for pickup in Dallas, please see our DFW Pickup page for more information.
How much is shipping and handling?
Our shipping rates depend on the weight of the package and also the shipping address. To determine your pricing, you will need to enter your shipping address and select your shipping method from the drop down menu. You will be able to see the shipping cost without inputting your credit card information.
How long does Ground shipping take?
Ground shipping through FedEx does not have a guaranteed delivery date, like FedEx Next Day or 2-Day Air. But, typically, it will take anywhere from 2 to 5 days depending on the delivery location. Please note, if you select Ground shipping, we will only ship on Monday or Tuesday during certain parts of the year so that our perishable cake balls won't sit in a FedEx shipping hub over the weekend. Also, we only offer Ground shipping during the colder months.
Where can I get more infomation for public relations?
Please visit our press page to see some of the recent press we have received. You can also email us at email@example.com, and we'll be happy to answer any questions or point you in the right direction.
Do you do "Gender Reveal" cake balls?
Yes! So fun! We now offer pink strawberry cake balls and blue chocolate cake balls hidden inside a dark chocolate coating. These are available by special order, so please contact us, and we'll be happy to help get your order going.
Do you do cake balls for weddings?
Yes. We love weddings. We currently offer a very cute 2-piece gift bag. It makes a great favor for your special day. Some other wedding ideas that we've done include cake balls as a groom's cake, in place of a traditional wedding cake or in a dessert buffet. Brides have also passed them on trays with milk or coffee as a late night snack as the reception is winding down. These options are available for pickup from our Dallas store or by delivery in the DFW area (delivery charge applies). Please contact us to place an order.
