First came family. Then came cake balls.
Robin Ankeny grew up in South Texas savoring her mother’s one-of-a-kind cake balls. Made from a secret family recipe, these sweet indulgences were an essential part of family celebrations, holidays and other special occasions. When Robin’s mother handed down her delicious cake ball recipes, she knew they were too special to keep to herself. So she began making cake balls for her family and friends, and soon developed new flavor combinations. The word spread. Orders began piling up. Robin founded The Cake Ball Company to keep up with the demand. And the rest, as she says, “is crazy, delicious history.”
Although The Cake Ball Company now fills orders from across the country, it's still proudly owned and operated by Robin and her business partner, Charlotte Lyon in Dallas, Texas. While many have attempted to imitate the company’s indulgent flavors, nothing compares to the delectable treats that can only come from the original Cake Ball Company. With the support of family and friends and a palette of decadent, exotic flavors, this small business is getting bigger by the bite. And yet, every mouth-watering cake ball is still made by hand. No factories here. No stockpiled inventory. Just fresh delicious cake balls, made to order.
